Ardress House is a mansion dating from the 17th century that is situated near Portadown in the north of County Armagh, not far from the Argory.

The building started out as a modest 17th century farmhouse, but was enlarged and redeveloped into an elegant manor house during the 18th century by the architect George Ensor. Now owned by the National Trust, the house contains a very impressive Adam-style drawing room, which is filled with original neoclassical furniture, as well as a good collection of paintings. The drawing room is notable for its magnificent ceiling, with ornate plasterwork that was created by the Dublin plasterer Michael Stapleton and is considered to be some of his finest work.

Visitors can take a tour of the house, and visit the working 18th century cobbled farmyard, which, along with the livestock, contains a collection of traditional farm machinery and tools. As well as the exhibition area, there is a piggery and smithy. The grounds surrounding the house are filled with gardens and lovely areas of woodland, and there are scenic riverside walks.
