Camden Town, famous for its bustling, market town feel oozes originality
and fun. North West of London city centre and close to Regent’s
Park, an area attracts a peculiar blend of tourists and locals.
Camden Lock
Market was a simple craft market when it started in the 1970’s
but now offers a much wider range of goods. Camden Stables Market
and Camden Buck Street Market as well as the Inverness Street
Market retain its original culture where you wouldn’t imagine
traders have ever heard of eBay.
The markets are generally open seven days a week, although tourists
do ensure that it’s constantly busier at the weekend.
Another local
area of regeneration is the Camden Canal. Dotted in cafes and
bistros, a freshly cooked snack is only ever a wander away. Canal
longboats are popular for day-trips to London Zoo and Little Venice,
letting you pause at three-miles-an-hour and regress to a time
when style mattered more than speed. Whether you’re after
a particular piece of vintage clothing from the market, or a potter
around one of the more community orientated places in London,
Camden Town represents a good choice.
