Ceredigion Coliseum Photo Housed in a restored Edwardian Coliseum, the Ceredigion Museum is located in Aberystwyth, mid-Wales.

Chronicling local life, the museum has a collection of around 50, 000 items from the country of Ceredigion (formerly Cardiganshire), with most of the artefacts on display dating from the 19th and 20th centuries. The main focus of the permanent displays is agriculture, seafaring and lead mining, although there are also children's toys, furniture, and memorabilia from the days when theCeredigion Coliseum Photo auditorium of the Coliseum housed a theatre and cinema.

The interior of the Coliseum is stunning, and the exhibits are wide-ranging. A reconstruction of a one-roomed 19th century Welsh cottage, and the mechanism of the old town clock, are some of the highlights on display. There is also a curious skeleton that was found during the excavation of Aberyswyth Castle in 1988. It is assumed that the skeleton was buried in the castle during a siege of the Civil War in the 17th century. In the Coliseum Gallery is an art exhibition, with a large collection of oil paintings by Alfred Worthington, a 19th century artisan painter who moved from Dover to Aberystwyth, and whose love of the sea inspired much of his work. The museum also has an impressive collection of taxidermy.
