Florence Court Photo Florence Court is a mid-18th century Georgian mansion that lies southwest of Enniskillen, surrounded by the foothills of the Cuilcagh Mountains, in County Fermanagh.

The house was built in Palladian style by Sir John Cole, one of the Earls of Enniskillen, and named after his wife, Florence Wrey. Completed around 1775, the building has been owned by the National Trust since the 1950's. It was damaged by a devastating fire in 1955, and had toFlorence Court Photo be partly rebuilt and extensively restored. Much of the fine plasterwork was lost in the fire, although the contents of the ground rooms were saved.

Today, the rooms are filled with original furnishings and artwork. The exquisite Rococo plasterwork is one most impressive features of the house, and the ornately decorated ceiling of the dining room is particularly striking. The beautiful grounds of the mansion contain parkland, woodland, a walled garden and a sawmill, and the 'Florence Court Yew', originally planted in 1770, is recognised as the parent tree of all Irish yews. Adjoining the estate is a Forest Park, where there are a variety of waymarked walking trails, one of which leads across open moorland up to Cuilcagh Mountain.
