An Abbey is a term used for a Monastery or Nunnery. The
"Benedictine Rule" was brought to England in the 6th
Century, and over the next millenium different settlements were
established. In the 16th Century, Henry VIII took the decision
to begin the dissolusion of the monasteries. However, several
