Ulster American Folk Park Photo The Ulster American Folk Park is located five miles north of Omagh in Camphill, County Tyrone, and is one of the finest museums in the country.

Established in 1976, the park tells the story of the more than 2 million Ulster natives who emigrated to America in the 18th and 19th centuries. A vast open-air museum features replicas of authentically furnished houses, schools and streetscapes from the period, as well as many original buildings that have been transplanted and rebuilt. Ulster American Folk Park Photo The Ship and Dockside Gallery contains a full-size reconstruction of an emigrant ship, which takes visitors from the Old World to the New World, both of which are brought to life by costumed interpretive guides and craftsmen going about their daily activities.

Supplementing the outdoor museum is an indoor Emigrant's Exhibition, which has many artefacts and displays about the historical background of the emigration. Also within the complex is the Centre for Emigration Studies, containing extensive information about the emigration period. The park holds various events throughout the year, including July 4th festivities, and an annual Appalachian and Bluegrass Music Festival which takes place in the first weekend of September.
