Ulster History Park Photo The Ulster History Park is an open-air museum lying three miles south of Gortin, to the northeast of Omagh, in County Tyrone.

Occupying 35 acres, the park tells the history of human settlement in Ireland through full-scale replicas of buildings dating from the Neolithic period to the 17th century. The various homes and monuments are set out in chronological order, following the successive waves of settlers in Ireland. Early reconstructions include a Mesolithic camp Ulster History Park Photo and Neolithic dwellings, as well as many stone monuments, including an impressive dolmen. A Bronze Age crannog sits on a lake island; there is also a 12th century monastic settlement with a huge round tower, a Norman motte and bailey, and a 17th century plantation town.

The site contains an exhibition centre, and visitors can take an interactive tour which provides background information about the history of different dwellings. Surrounding the park are beautiful woodlands, and the foothills of the Sperrin Mountains. The scenic Gortin Glen Forest Park lies nearby, and offers facilities for outdoor pursuits such as walking.
